Course partners | Netherlands Ministry for Development Cooperation The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the channel through which the Dutch Government communicates with foreign governments and international organizations. Two more ministers also serve in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Minister for Development Cooperation is responsible for policy on development cooperation. And the Minister for European Affairs is responsible for policy on European integration and cooperation, asylum and migration, international cultural relations, and global environmental, scientific and technological issues Some of the most important goals of the Ministry is to promote security and stability, effective humanitarian assistance, and good governance; to strengthen European cooperation; to create more wealth, less poverty; to promote human and social development; to protect and improve the environment; etc. Development cooperation is one of the main tasks of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
